Hanover Community Players are pleased to be working with the Grey Bruce School of Dance for the musical The Wizard of Oz. A great community partnership!

HCP has auditions coming up for Robin Hood and the Heroes of Sherwood Forest as well as  the musical, The Wizard of Oz.

Please know that NO PRE-CASTING is done for any of our productions. Everyone is treated equally and directors cast people based on their own vision and interpretation of the play, not acting/singing experience or possible friendship. Who will fit the vision is the key.  We get together as a group to cast although the director has the final say.

We want all people who are interested and committed to try out. You do not have to be ‘invited’ to auditions (there seems to be some misinformation going around about this). We are a completely volunteer group and love to work with new people as well as previous actors. Come out and give it a try as you never know what you may be capable of doing!

Robin Hood Monologues Are Up

Robin Hood monologues are up.  Please note that not every part has a monologue.  We will have other speaking/acting material available for you at auditions.  Be sure to mark your audtion sheet with any special talents you have such as juggling, gymnastics etc.

Meet Dan Needles

Dan Needles, Perils of Persephone playwright, will be attending the May 28th matinee at 2:00 p.m.  Audience members are invited to join the cast and crew for a brief social time after the show in the downstairs community hall.  Refreshments will be served.  Help HCP celebrate Canada’s 150th!

The HCP board has chosen to present Robin Hood and the Heroes of Sherwood Forest, by Randy Wyatt, as its production December 8th, 9th and 10th 2017.  Auditions will take place Sept. 7th at 6:30 p.m. or Sept. 8th at 6:30 p.m.  You only have to attend one.  Casting will be announced on Sat. Sept. 9th with the first rehearsal at 1:15 p.m. in the Hanover Community Hall for all parents and and cast members.

Let’s see lots of people trying out – roles for children, teens and adults!

Hearing Assist Project

Thanks to a Community Foundation Grey Bruce grant of $3,000 and HCP funding the remaining $3,000, a section of the lower south side seating in the Hanover Civic Theatre, has been wired to allow those who need assistance, to hear what is taking place on the stage.  All people equipped with a hearing aid with a T-coil system will be able to switch it to the frequency (check with your hearing specialist to get yours programmed!) and hear what is taking place on stage.  A few headsets have also been purchased for loan if patrons do not having a T-coil.  A big thank you to Community Foundation Grey Bruce!
