Blocking is the movement and positioning of actors on a stage in order to facilitate the performance of a play. (originally planned using miniature blocks). The Stage Manager writes the blocking in the Prompt Book but each actor is responsible for writing down their own blocking notes, in pencil, in their script. (things may change). Be nice to your stage manager and be prepared!
